What is a station?

A station refers to a PLC and its associated equipment, including expansion IO and communication modules. The PLC, from a communication standpoint, resides on a communication network and occupies a unique station address. This is analogous to a suburban street where many houses are situated, each with only a unique street address to differentiate it from its identical neighbor.
